Five Things to Know
With its world-renowned Christmas market (voted the best in the world in 2022), sparkling ice rink, spectacular lights and endless activities, Winter Wonders captures the true spirit of the festive season. If you’re visiting for the first time, get ready for an experience designed to amaze guests from all over the world.
De Brouckère ice rink
The Winter Wonders ice rink is Brussels’ only open-air ice rink, set on Place De Brouckère for the delight of skaters big and small. A terrace overlooks the rink so you can soak up the atmosphere while watching the action on the ice. This year, three curling lanes are also integrated into the rink. Grand-Place Christmas Tree
Each year in mid-November, the Christmas tree takes its place at the Grand-Place. It stands proudly at the heart of the multicoloured sound and light show projected on the façades of the world’s most beautiful square. When the festivities end in January, the tree’s wood is reused to create, for example, benches for the following year’s Winter Wonders or trophies for the BXL TOUR. Mulled wine, tartiflette and doughnuts are long-time favourites, and the cosy shared terraces are the perfect places to enjoy these festive treats at the Christmas market. The chalets offer both savoury and sweet dishes, along with a long list of gift ideas for the holidays. Some of them are run by artisans certified under the Winter Wonders Quality Label. The market stretches across several sites: Tour Noire, Vismet, and the squares Sainte-Catherine, Bourse, Monnaie and De Brouckère. More information on the Christmas Market.
The Ferris Wheel: The Best View of WINTER WONDERS
